GERMANS MURDERED
FRENCH “ GRAPEVINE " MEN SUSPECTED LONDON, November 13. French “ grapevine ” men are suspected of having murdered scores of German prisoners from Allied camps after promising to smuggle them home —at a price, says the Paris correspondent of the 1 Daily Express.’ The French police are following a line of inquiry after the arrest of the Maquis, chief, Robert Le Plane, who is believed to be^implicated. A German prisoner in Lotz told the police that French “ grapevine ” men had promised to get him to Germany for £3O. They pressed a pistol against his neck, but it jammed. He escaped, but he says he saw. a friend executed. The nolice found his friend’s body at Le Havre.
