FAKED TESTAMENTS

GOERING' “LAST MESSAGES" CIRCULATION IN NUREMBERG (Rec. noon.) FRANKFURT, November 14. Mimeographed sheets have been circulated in Numerberg purporting to be copies of notes left by Goering before committing suicide. Some people are receiving their meat from butchers wrapped in them. One of the notes says: “The Allies are clever, but I am cleverer. The Allies won the war, but whether they are able to win the peace depends on you.” Another passage reads: “ The Fuhrer is dead. I am empowered to assure you of this. Both he and I leave because we know you are strong enough to stand up under hardship, even without our presence. You will some day again be able to show the world what you are made of.” Reuter’s correspondent says the “ testament ” is undoubtedly a fake. The genuine notes are held in. the Allied Control Council archives in Berlin, marked: “ Top secret: Duplicates burned.”
