RELIEF IN SIGHT
RELEASE OF STORES PROMISED (P.A.) WELLINGTON,-NoV. 14. Urgently-required relief for the shirt shortage is expected to be provided by the release, of huge Army, Navy, and Air Force stores at present held by the War Assets Realisation Board pending negotiations for their: disposal: Some hundreds of thousands of new garments and a heavy supply of reconditioned ortes are expected ,to be made available. ' The chief items are Shirts and underwear. The disposal of battledress, greatcoats, etc., is also. under consid-ei-taion. Trade quarters believe that tens of thousands of shirts, when released, will help to relievo the shirt shortage. ; Brigadier Avery, general manager of the War Assets Realisation Board, eaid that there was a very substantial quantity of service clothing . involved. It Was, of course, of service type, and by lio means all would be suitable for the man about town. 1 ‘
