• CAPTAIN AND GREW SAFE (P. A.) WHANGAIREI, Nov. 5. After striking Black Rock in the early hours of this morning, the scow ; Ngahau capsized, and to-day floats bottom up in the Bay of The skipper, Captain Kennedy, and his crew of four got off in a dinghy and rowed to Russell, which was reached at dawn after two hours’ pull. The Ngahau was carrying a full load of sand from Parengarenga to Opua, and was in smooth water when it struck the rock.
