LONDON, November 4.

Dr Boyd Neel will be the conductor and Mr Frederick Crinkle, the well-known violinist, will be the leader.” After playing in Australia and New Zealand, the orchestra will go to Canada. “It is hoped,” said Mr O’Connor, “ that this wilt be only the first of a series of Empire tours, arranged in conjunction with the British council.” [Dr Louis Boyd Neel, the founder and conductor of the Boyd Neel String Orchestra, is also the conductor of the Sadlers Wells Opera Company, and musical director of the Decca* Record Company. Although he was originally intended for the Navy, he took up a medical career on leaving Dartmouth, and qualified as a doctor in 1930.
