EXHIBITED IN LONDON

DUNEDIN ARTIST'S ETCHINGS . HONOUR FOR DR A. H. McLINYGGK A new success has come the way of the Dunedin .artist, Dr A. H. McLintock, president of . the Otago Art Society, who has received advice thattwo of his etchings have been accepted for hanging in this year’s exhibition in London of the . New English. Art Society. Earlier this year, an etching by Dr McLintoek was accepted for the exhibition of the Royal. Academy, and he lias previously had pictures hung in London and Paris exhibitions. The New English Art Society is one of the exclusive art groups in London, presenting a relatively small .but important exhibition, and insisting on a high standard of artistry. In the art world, acceptance of work for this exhibition is regarded among artists as a considerable honour. Not more than two pictures will be accepted from any one exhibitor. ; Dr McLintoek" submitted two .etchings from a, collection of Limehouse scenes he made when in London a few years ago. Some of these scenes, in the form of pencil sketches and in other forms have been exhibited locally, and have attracted much interest and praise Tt might be hoped that opportunity would be taken to place on permanent exhibition in Dunedin these pictures which are obviously highly regarded by overseas experts. Photographs of the two etchings are published on .this page.
