SCOTTISH SOCIETY SOCIAL
The Scottish Society of Dunedin held its monthly social and dance on Saturday in the Crawford Lounge, a large number of members and friends being present. The executive members were piped to the platform. The president, Mr James T. Ramsay, was in the chair. He referred to the death of Mrs A. MacAskill, members standing in silence as a mark of respect. Mr A. Stewart, the official piper, played a lament. Items were given by the Misses Grant, Penfold and Melser (vocal trio), Miss J. Grant (recitation), Misses June Smith, Audrey Tobin, Lorna Gray, and [Rachel Anderson (reel). The pipers were Messrs A. Stewart and H. Crawford. Supper was served by the Ladies’ Committee, and the remainder of the evening was spent in dancing, the M.C. being Mr W. A. Nelson.
