STILWELL'S ASHES

SCATTERED OVER PACIFIC (Rec. 8 a.m.) NEW YORK, October 17. General Stihvell’s personal plane today scattered his ashes over the Pacific in accordance with the soldier hero’s wishes, states a message from Carmel (California). Carrying the same three airmen who flew General Stilwell on countless missions in China and Burma, the plane carried the ashes to sea after dipping low over the general’s family home at Carmel, where private services were held, with only the family and close friends attending.
