DOUBLE CROSS IN L(G EVENT DERENE THE FORM SPRINTER (Special.) CHRISTCHURCH, October 18. The Geraldine Racing Club will bold its seconu spring meeting at Orari tomorrow. '1 lie fields are up to the strength and standard of those at'last monta’s fixture, and most of tile issues appear very open. Double Cress, winner of the Geraldine Cup at the previous meeting, will be in keen demand again in the President’s Handicap, and Derene, vyho won the open sprint at the same fixture and won again last Saturday, will no doubt be at a short price in the Stewards’ Handicap. Her weight is 9.0 and she is to have a 51b allowance. Her strongest opponents will be Grill, Piccolo, John o’ London, and Montezuma. The sixth and eighth events have been transposed.
