AMATEUR CHAMPIONSHIP OPENS UNPLEASANT CONDITIONS (P.A.) CHRISTCHURCH, Opt. 18. Because of heavy rain the start of the New Zealand women’s amateur golf championship on the Shirley links this mornnig was delayed. The greens were very dead.
