AUSTRALIANS EASIER BRITISH TOBACCOS SELL AT 54/* J A weakening in Australian leaders, particularly noticeable in the case of British Tobaccos, which sold down to 545, marked operations' on the Dunedin Exchange this morning. Buyers offered more cautious quotations for a wide range c-f Australian issues, including mining shares, and margins consequently widened. Woolworths N.Z. sold at the easier price of 26s Bd, with more wanted at that value, and best vendors only Id away at the close. Selected quotations are as follows:
