Owner” writes, to the ‘ Star ’ “ I would like to comment oh „the small fields for the Forbury Park trots. Can anyone wonder at such a position when a so-called big club puts oil a race for £7OO arid small clubs like Oamaru and Methven offer a stake of £1;000? Owners and trainers shorild cut the Forbury Club out, and then, perhaps, members would put in a new committee which Would cater for. all classes of horses at stakes on a par With other centres.
“ Also, why. does Forbury omit to have a maiden race? The last maiden race I remember hero was won by a member’s horse, find since then they have cut the class out. There are local maiden horses, but they have to go afield to get a race to suit them. No wonder there sire no horses trained at Forbury. There are plenty of horses of these classes in Southland to .win at Forbtiry Without Worrying about; the northern horses. We all agree that even a coming Cup horse must start at the bottom. , Wliy not at Forbtiry Park?”
