FEDERAL COAL BILL
BATTLE CONTINUES LOWER HOUSES REJECT AMENDMENTS (Rec. 11.45 a.m.) SYDNEY, Sept. 12. The battle in the State Parliament over the amendments to the Coal Bill continues. The Lower House and the Legislative Assembly last night rejected all the amendments made by the Legislative Council. The Premier, Mr W. J. McKell, and the Minister of Justice, Mr R. R. Downing, trenchantly criticised the Council for its action. When the Council meets next week it will be asked to consider a message from the Speaker of the Legislative Assembly that the Council’s amendments are not acceptable to the Asseriibly.
