TRAFFIC ARRANGEMENTS to be observed by motorists attending the test match at Carisbrook on Saturday afternoon, or passing in the vicinity.' tor in Ferguson street. A stand for omnibuses will he provided in Ferguson street after the match. - All private cars from the city-are to precede via the main south road over the cemetery hill and park in streets south of Burns street, returning after the match via Helena street or Bradshaw street, Maeandrew road, and Anderson’S Bay road. 1 All vehicles returning from Carisbrook via Princes street are to turn down Manor street, thence via Crawford street to Rattray street. FREE MOVEMENT. In discussing the above arrangements with a ‘ Star ’ reporter, the chief traffic inspector, Mr E. H: Barrett, stated that, the arrangements made would permit pedestrians to have unrestricted movement from the ground to the trams and buses without having to thread their way through motor traffic The transport department would have a long line of waiting tramcars in the South road, and any motorist parking on the north side beyond .Law street would simply havo to stay" there until the long line of tramcars was loaded in the Glen and proceeded over the hill; The same position would arise with motor traffic endeavouring to travel north along Princes street south. There, again, a long line of tramcars discharging passengers at every stop would make it impossible almost for motor traffic to proceed without endangering tram passen- ; gers. Traffic inspectors would be 'on duty at all strategic points, and. if motorists co-operate and comply with their instructions there should be no undue delay or congestion after the match. .
