, TRUCE PARLEYS WITH COMMUNISTS SITUATION IN CHINA SERIOUS (Rec. 8 a.m.) --V _ NANKING, Sept. 11. Carrying undisclosed truce terms from Marshal Chiang Kai-shek, General Marshall conferred with Communist negotiators for two and a-half hours, after which a Communist spokesman said: “ We continue to demand an unconditional cease fire. We will not accept any other conditions. The situation remains serious.” The Associated Press correspondent says that-any immediate hope of halting increasing civil strife appears to he doomed.
