JEWISH PARTICIPATION STILL HOPED FOR
(Rec. 10 a.m.) LONDON, Sept. 10. After Mr Attlee’s address to tne Palestine conference. Faris El Khoury, president of the Syrian Chamber . of. Deputies, who is the leading Arab spokesman, briefly thanked Mr Attlee, aftpr which the conference adjourned until to-morrow, when El Khoury will formally reply. Mr H. A. Goodmen, secretary of the Agudath Israel World Organisation
(non-Zionist orthodox Jews), stated that as the result of a meeting with Mr George Hall to-day the hope w;as expressed, that participation by Jewish organisations in the conference might yet be achieved. Agudath representatives conveyed to IMr Hall suggestions from the Jewfeh conference yesterday. Mr Goodmen afterwards met Jewish Agency leaders. Arrangements have afio been made for a meeting of Jewish organisations whenever necessary, in order to achieve agreed Jewish participation in the conference.
