PLAYERS’ WAGE CLAIMS
(Rec. 8 a.m.) LONDON, September 9. With a view to avoiding the possibility of a strike among Soccer footballers, who are claiming a maximum of £l2 weekly instead of £lO, the Ministry of Labour is seeking to arrange talks between the Football League Plavers’ Union and Ministry officials. This is the first time the British Government has intervened in domestic football affairs.
