PRACTICAL PSYCHOLOGY

" ORGANISING THE MIND " At the weekly meeting of the Practical Psychology Club many interest-; mg papers were read and later discussed by members. One paper dealt with ” How to organise one’s mind.” An. uncontrolled mind, it was stated, was a’ fool’s paradise, while an organ- 1 used one was a leader’s workshop. Any normal person could change his thoughts at will. Nobody could ..concentrate oil more than one thing at a time. Whenever the mind exhibited a tendency to wander aimlessly from one thing to another its roving snould be checked instantly. ....discouragement should be taken as a goading stimulus. We were not 'fit to cope with life until we learnt that most, troubles never happened. “ What would people say ” paralysed the efficiency and made one a slave. The greatest mistake in the world was to worry over one’s mistakes, and .the next greatest was to fear .that one would make a mistake. Remember the greatest people made the greatest mistakes. Difficulties should be taken as mental and physical gymnastics—essential for character building.
