ASSOCIATION FOOTBALL
HIGH SCHOOLS’ MATCH OTAGO DEFEATS KING’S Otago Boys’ High School had the better of the game when it defeated King’s High School by 4 goals to 1 in the annual association football match played at King’s High School ground yesterday. Play was fast and interesting in the first half, but deteriorated in the second spell. ~ Lloyd opened the scoring for King’s and towards tiny end of the first spell Doing scored for Otago, the ball coming off one of the defenders and giving the King’s goalkeeper no chance. George, at centre-forward, was always dangerous for King’s, but fast following by McCrprio caught the King’s goalie in two'minds, and the Otago player found the net. During the spell G. Laurie was replaced by D. A. Calvert. Vik, a very small but clever right wing, started several clever movements early in the second half. Wong, the King’s right wing, made a good run
and centred to George, but Diehl charged'the kick down. Otago did most of the attacking in _the second spell, and from a corner kick by Vik, Harvey scored a goal off the posts.
