SOVIET TROOPS CONCENTRATING
NORTH OF PERSIAN BORDER WASHINGTON, August 14. The Persian Ambassador to America, Hussein Ala, said he had received reports that the Russians had concentrated troops in the Caucasus, north of Persia The reports did not indicate the purpose of the concentrations, but they might be used either to counter British pressure against Persia in the south or to bring pressure on Turkey after the Russians’ new demands on the Dardanelles. Hussein Ala added that reports were circulating in diplomatic quarters-that the Rusians were also concentrating some forces around Odessa.
