THE " WILD GEESE " RECALLED Thousands of skilled labourer* throughout Eire are flocking to, answer the call of the French Legation m Dublin which has initiated a scheme to recruit Irish labour to assist' m France’s reconstruction programme, ' Approximately 2,000 painters, plasterers bricklayers, electricians, carpenters, builders and plumbers have already been recruited under the plan, which 'is approved by the Eire Government. This the first time in more than 300 years that there has been a move in Eire to emigrate -to France. In the; sixteenth century thousands of Irishmen joined the French Army. These emigrants, known in Ireland as * the wild geese,,” settled hi France and other European countries over a period of about 100 years. • ■ ;
