NUMBER OF SOLDIERS SENTENCED (Rec. 8 a.m.) LONDON, Aug. 10. ■ Nine' soldiers were - sentenced to penal servitude ranging-from three to five years and a-half after conviction on charges arising from the Aldershot military prison riots.- [ Prisoners in'the Aldershot detention barracks, known as. the “Glasshouse.” rioted on February 23. They stripped tiles from the roof and smashed every skylight and window. Mobile troops were called out and firemen played jets of water on the roof of the building while the rioters pelted them with missiles. The damage to the building was estimated at £i0.000.)
