NO ARREST
POLICE APPEAL FOR INFORMATION (P.A.) NELSON, June 24. The police stated at noon to-day that no arrest had been made in connection with the Queen’s Gardens case, nor was any person held on suspicion. From further Press inquiries, no clue can be advanced as to who called out: “ What’s going on there? ” The body of the victim lias been released for burial, which will take place at Waihi Pa, Tokaanu, probably on Wednesday. Detective-sergeant McPhee and Detective Hedley, of Wellington, are remaining in Nelson to co-operate with Detective-sergeant J. J. Murray and the local police, in further investigations. The fact that the police have issued an appeal locally for information from any member of the public who might have seen Otimi at or after 11.30 o’clock on Thursday night appears to indicate that there is not yet any definite line on which the investigations are being continued.
