ANZAC CLUB IN NEW YORK NEW YOKK, April 24. .'High-ranking American officers, including Lieutenant-general G. 0. Kenney and Admiral T. Kincakl, attended 'the function to mark the closing of New York's An/.ac Club. Tributes were paid to the' Australian and New Zealand fighting forces. The president and founder of the club, .Miss Xola Luxi'ord, said* that, although the club was being disoanded, an emergency committee would be maintained so that no Anzac serviceman passing through New York would ever feel lonely in the city or find himself without accommodation and entertainment. Sir Carl Berendsen, New Zealand's High Commissioner in the United States, thanked the club workers on behalf of the Dominion. He said the Government and people would never forget the club's work on behalf of JS'ew Zealanders.
