FUTURE OF JAVA
DISAPPOINTING TALKS AT THE HAGUE INDONESIAN DELEGATES LEAVING THE HAGUE, April 24. The talks between the Dutch and the Indonesian delegates about Indonesia's future have ended, and the Indonesians will return home to-day. The Indonesian Minister for the Interior, Dr Soedarsano, told the Press that the negotiations had been disappointing and virtually without result. A message from Batavia states that the Netherlands East Indies Govern-ment-financed paper, ' Het Bagblad,' bitterly attacked Admiral Lord Louis Mountbatten on the eve of his visit to Java. It said that " General MacArthur would have restored order here long ago. He does not travel around in splendid uniforms and glittering decorations, bragging about victories. He would have- said: ' I am here to give orders, not'io negotiate.' "
