OTAGO CLUE The annual meeting of the Otago Golf Club was held on Monday night. The president (Mr J. ■lt. Callender) occupied the chair. Moving the adoption of the annual report, the President referred to the loss of seven members of the club on active service. He drew attention to a substantial increase in membership and to the greatly increased cost in the upkeep of the course. Despite difficulties in the maintenance of equipment and the club's inability to obtain replacements, the course was, he considered, in better condition than ever before. The President referred with regret to the impending retirement of Mr W. G. Wight, who had been secretary of the club for the past 10 years. The following officers were elected: — President, Mr J. W. Smeaton; club captain, Mr E. A. Reed; committee— Messrs F. W. Dixon, A. Gill, J. H. Meek, J. W. Mcintosh, and J. ~\V. Trewern. The rules were amended to provide for an increase in members' subscriptions. Messrs J. R. Callender and W. G. Wight were elected life members of the club.
