TEACHERS' SALARIES. The Minister otf Education (Mr Mason) announced ■ to-day that, following representations by teachcrs' organisations, the Government had decided to set up a consultative committee on teachers' salaries, similar to the committee that recently investigated the salary scales for public servants. The committee will include officers of the Education Department and representatives of all branches of the State teaching services. An education board secretary, who is also secretary of the post-primary board, will be a member. The com.mittee begins its sittings at Wellington on May I.—Press Association.
