AUSTERITY IN DENMARK

BAN ON IMPORTS GREAT BRITAIN INCLUDED LONDON, March 23. Denmark has banned the importation of goods from Great Britain, reports the Exchange Telegraph. The reason given to the Board of Trade by the Danes is that no more imports .of luxury articles, including British-made clothes, can be allowed until arrangements are made to enable Denmark to pay for them. Tho ban applies to all countries, and not only Great Britain, the Exchange Telegraph adds. It is described as a temporary measure, and is due to a shortage of foreign exchange. It is understood that Great Britain has agreed to import everything shn °'in from Denmark to ease the exchange position.
