SURPLUS OF £1,996
RECENT ST. CLAIR CARNIVAL During its seven-day session, the St. Clair beach carnival, held at the end of January netted the sum of nearly £2,000. The exact surplus was £1,996, which has been equally divided, between the two bodies who organised the carnival—the St. Clair Bowling dub and tlie St. Clair Surf Life Saving Club. The bowling club will use its share of . the proceeds for the extension of its playing area, this being necessitated by the growing popularity of the game' and the consequent increase in membership. The surf club has not yet decided how it will use its share of the proceeds. The carnival was favoured with good weather and the organisers feel very satisfied with the result.
