WINGED PASSENGER ROCKETS

BRITISH INVESTIGATIONS LONDON. March 18. Britain is investigating a plan for winged passenger rockets with jet hrakes to fly 100 miles above the earth. This was disclosed by the Director of Engine Development in the Ministry of Aircraft Production, Air-Commodore Banks. The rockets would have reserved jets in front for slowing down and landing. Air-Commodore Banks added that R.A.F. Meteor Squadrons were able to reduce ground. staffs by half because of the simplicity of jet engines. • -
