KING AND QUEEN

STANDING INVITATION TO iyW - fp**’ WARM WELCOME ASSURED f? (P.A.) WELLINGTON, Mar. IS. “ Their Majesties are fully aware, and no opportunity lias been lost of informing them, that New Zealand will most cordially welcome a visit from them,” said the Prime Minister, Mr P. Fraser, when he was asked tonight if he were able to say whether the King and Queen contemplated visiting New Zealand after their tour of South Africa. “ Indeed, there is a permanent invitation,” added Mr Fraser, “ and I am hoping that as soon as practicable after the South African visit their Majesties will find it possible to visit New Zealand and Australia. Their close association with the people of Britain for the whole period of the war, during which they and their family shared its perils and risks, more than ever endeared them to the people of the British Commonwealth.”
