FORD’S COLOGNE FACTORIES.

TO THE EDITOR. Sir, —In answer to “ Red H.Q., ” I can state definitely that the last time I flew over Cologne there was no factory which had not been smashed, and I had a good view. The Cathedral was hit plenty of times situated as it was at the end of the big bridge, beside the railway yards, but as the walls were about 30 feet thick there were some problems attached to pushing it over. “ Pinpoint ” bombing was sup-, planted by obliteration bombing long before the end of the war, and all the factories suffered. Perhaps “ Red H.Q.” could confine his criticism and observation to those facets of the war which he saw for himself.—l am, etc., March 19. N.Z. 417116.
