INDIAN TROOPS WITHDRAWING BRITISH TROOPS TO REMAIN (Rec. 8 a.m.) NEW DELHI, Feb. 28. General Sir Claude Auchinleck has announced that the withdrawal of Indian troops from Indonesia will begin to-morrow, March 1. General Auchinleck's statement was made in the Indian Council of State, in reply to a Congress Party adjournment motion on " The continued employment of Indian troops for the purpose of suppressing the Indonesian national movement."

lleuter's Batavia correspondent reports that the spokesman at Allied force headquarters in Indonesia denied long current reports that British troops were evacuating Java in April. The spokesman said: " This is probably wishful thinking. Our mission is unchanged."
