BLANKETS FOR SERVICEMEN

80 PER GENT OF OUTPUT RESERVED Retailers have been notified by the factory controller that for the next three months no less than 80 per cent, of the blankets offered for sale must be reserved for demobilised service personnel, with priority to applicants with overseas service. The balance of 20 per cent, will be available to meet the urgent needs of the general public, according to an official statement. The district rehabilitation officer will issue the necessary purchase permit to servicemen desiring blankets, and the serviceman will buy the articles from the retailer. It has also been decided that the total output of blankets from the mills will be distributed to retailers through the usual trade channels, inr stead: of the system of maintaining a blanket pool.
