.ASSOCIATION MEETING^ ■'* ■■. '. ' A meeting of the association was held on Tuesday nighty Mr Fleming presiding. Also present were Messrs Bayley, Birtles, Botting, Chiswell. Jensen, McNeill, H. M. Nyhon, J. B. Thomson and Wilson. Mesdames Jones-Neilson, Botting, Parkinson, and McNeill. The delegates to the meeting called by the Boating Club reported on that meeting. A letter was read from the Postmaster-General, stating that a public slot telephone would be installed at Broad Bay as soon as the materials were available. In the meantime alternative ; arrangements' were being considered. Messrs Wilson and McNeill were empowered to . proceed l with the work on a path to Brown's Beach, using money collected for that purpose. As the importance of the meeting was largely' to discuss the question of rooms for. visiting Plunket nurse and doctor, a lengthy discussion took place on the suggestion of a Centre in a suitable position incorporating these facilities with a rest room and other amenities. Mr Thomson, Mrs Jones-Neilson and Mrs McNeill' were asked to go into . this and report. In the meantime the Postmistress had offered to take the names of those needing the services of a doctor on Wednesdays and he will call at their homes. The question of the Medical Officer" of Health's suggestion for the piping of necessary drains was discussed. It was decided to 'request the County Council to erect street names. The meeting. closed with a vote of thanks to Mrs Jones-Neilson for the use of her residence during the past two years.
