PROFESSIONAL BOXING

Monday night's boxing contest between Henry Robertson, of Auckland, and Danny O'Keefe, of Wellington, will open the boxing season, not only in Otago, but throughout New Zealand. Robertson, after his fine showing in his only professional contest, is greatly in demand by North Island associations, while O'Keefe has already signed for several contests after his Otago bout.. Both men ere great crowd pleasers andl an exciting mill is predicted. The amateur preliminaries are of the highest order and the Otago Boxing Association is setting itself a high standard to maintain throughout the season. With the New Zealand championships being held this year for the first time since 1939, the amateurs are already in good training with the trip to Auckland in the offing. Intending patrons are advised to book their seats early at Jacobs. Full dletails are advertised.
