ACCIDENTS AND DEATHS
FATAL CAR CRASH. When a motor car' left the main highway and crashed into a ditch north of Woodville yesterday, the driver, who is believed to bo Paul Lethbridge Mason, an agricultural contractor, of Foxton, received fatal injuries. ' The deceased, was thrown from the car and was found by a farmer, whose attention was drawn by the ecreech of brakes'and the stationary glare of lights. DEATH FROM BURNS. Seriously burned in an apartment house fire in Hobson .street, Auckland, an elderly man, Mr Hugh Close, single, aged 71, died m -hospital/ The fire damaged the passageway and a room in the house. • BOY RUN OVER. When leaving the Dannevirke r A. and P. Showgrounds late yesterday, a boy aged five, a son of Mr *,. O. Hope of Dannevirke, while crossing the road came into contact with, a lorry. The back wheels ran over him and death was instantaneous.— 1 .A. CAR OVER BANK. .Three Dunedin men were admitted to the Oamaru Hospital yesterday as a result of injuries received when the car in which they were travelling from Dunedin to Oamaru went over a bank' between Hampden and Herbert. Those injured were William Mcßride, .of Bathgate road, South Dunedin, scalp wounds and shock. Thomas Adams, St. Kilda .cuts and shock, and David Fulton, St. Kilda, who is suffering from shock. GORED BY BULL. Cecil Cameron, aged 39, of 'Berwick, was admitted to the Public Hospital at 1.15 p.m. yesterday with lacerations to bis left arm, which he suffered when lie was gored by a bull.
