SERVICEMEN HONOURED
WELCOME AT GREEN ISLAND Green Island honoured 44 returned servicemen at a social evening on Wednesday evening. Speeches of welcome were made by the mayor (Mr T. McAhan) and Mr J. Gallery (president of the Green Island R.S.A.). Illuminated addresses from the residents of Green Island were presented to the men by the mayoress. Items by the Green Island Municipal Band, Mr George Christie, Mr and Mrs Larkins, Miss Joyce Stewart, Miss Fay Heasley, and Mrs Campbell provided bright entertainment, and dancing concluded a very successful evening. The men will be entertained at a smoke concert as the guests of the Green Island R.S.A. on ' Friday evening next. .
