DALMORE HOUSEHOLDERS

ASSOCIATION'S ANNUAL MEETING The annual meeting of the DalmorePine Hill Districts Ratepayers and Householders' Association was held on Monday night, the president, Mr J. Faulds, being in the chair. There was a large attendance of members. Letters were received from the town clerk stating that the tar-sealing of the lower portion of Fortune street had now been completed, and that other suggested improvements would bo provided for in the 1946-47 allocations. In reply to a request for improvement of the path at the bottom, of the " 101" steps, he stated that authority had been granted to construct a short length of kerb and channel on the north side of Pine Hill road, and that he had recorded for consideration the question of the paving of a small rectangular strip between the new kerb and the existing carriageway sealing, together with a strip of tar-sealing at the lower end of the steps into Pine Hill road.

A letter was received from the Roslyn and Kaikorai Ratepayers' Association inviting the members of the Dal-more-Pine Hill Association to a general meeting to discuss proposed developments in the city. After discussion it was decided to take no action in the matter, Ladies present mo,ved that the association approach the tramways manager with a view to obtaining a morning bus daily at 10.30 o'clock. At present, housewives leaving in the 9.5 a.m. bus had to wait until 12.15 to return. The following committee was elected for the ensuing year:—President. Mr J. Faulds; vice-president. Mr J. Peterson ; hon. secretary, Mrs J. Bayly; hon. treasurer, Mr Rodgers; hon. auditor, Mr J. Peterson; committee—Mrs J. L. Ford, Messrs P. Beath, G. Bingham, H. Black, N. Buchanan, J. Came-' ron, R. Craig. P. George, E. L. Gray, G. Simpson, M. Stent, and F. Stone. A vote of thanks was passed to Mr D. A. Lake for his work as secretary' of the association over the past five years, and to Mr E. Burgess, retiring treasurer, who is lenvinn the district.
