POLES IN ITALY GOST TO BRITISH TAXPAYER (Rec. noon.) LONDON, Feb. 12, The Secretary for War, Mr J. J. Lawson, in the House of Commons, said the present strength of the Polish armed forces in Italy was approximately 107,000, Sir Stanley Reed (Con., Aylesbury) asked Mr Lawson how long he proposed to keep that army in Italy, " in a country where it is not wanted and doing jobs which do not exist, at expense to the British taxpayer of nearly £2,000,000." Mr Lawson said the matter was receiving the attention of the Foreign Secretary, who hoped to make a statement on it shortly.
