MAGICIAN AT HIS MAJESTY'S

It being well before the war since the bewildering art of legerdemain was publicly displayed in Dunedin the convincing demonstrations by " The Amazing Mr Rooklyn " have a toucli of novelty about them that has not been lost on the audiences which have enthusiastically received his performances this week at His' Majesty's Theatre. This suave illusionist has achieved • the seemingly impossible in such clever and fascinating' tricks as ' Stretching the Lady " and " Cheating the Gallows," and his sleight of hand with cards and billiard balls have been just as intriguing. The company which Mr Rooklyn heads includes comedians and a ballet. This show will be presented until Saturday, when the final performance is to be given.
