ST. JOHN AMBULANCE

BRIGADE ACTIVITIES Competitions for the St. John Ambulance Brigade's senior division will this year be held on Saturday, April 13, in the Town Hall, thereby giving the divisions the opportunity of concentrating on practice for them before settling down to the main programme for the year. Conditions in the main are the same as last year. District Officer H. M. Smith, who has recently returned from overseas, has rejoined the staff, and at .present is acting as secretary to the Competitions Committee. APPOINTMENTS. The following appointments have been approved by the Commandery Commissioner: —L. J. McKay, secretary. Hillside Ambulance Division; Dr I). V. Strang, divisional surgeon to Green Island Cadets; A. R. Vivian, cadet officer, Green Island Cadet Ambulance Division; Mrs E. Taylor, lady cadet superintendent, Green island Cadet Nursing Division; Mr .1. Beanier,- vice-president. Green Island Cadet Ambulance Division. The following have been approved hv the officer in charge of the district, and have now been sent forward to

commandery for approval:—L. V. Stewart, corps superintendent, Dunedin Corps; E. Flawn, corps officer, Dunedin Corps, public duties; A. Yates, corps officer (secretary), Dunedin Corps; Miss. D. Harraway, lady corps officer, Dunedin Corps; 'Mrs 1). Sutherland, lady corps officer (cadets). Dunedin Corps'; Dr J. Malcolm, divisional surgeon, Hillside Ambulance Division; M. G. Aitkenhead, corporal, Hillside Ambulance Division; R. !11. Hay, corporal, Hillside Ambulance Division; R. R. Hay, cadet superintendent, and W. J. B. Coward, secretary of Green Island Cadet Ambulance Division ; Mrs h . G. Timmins, lady divisional superintendent, Clinton Cadet Nursing Division; Mr C. S. 1). Aitehison, lion, auditor, Otago District. The resignations of Corps Superintendent G R. Syder and several other members of tiie coiips staff have been accepted with regret, and tribute paid to their long and valued services with the brigade.
