Arch Druid Bro. C. A. McLean presided over a well-attended meeting of Otago Lodge No. 1, on January 25. The usual routine business was transacted. The visiting bards reported having visited the various sick brethren. Sick pay amounting to £2l 10s -was passed for payment. District President Bro. Lewis, of No. 1 district, was in attendance? and reported on the meeting held in connection with the forthcoming friendly societies' picnic. Progress euchre was enjoyed by the brethren at the close of business. The fortnightly meeting of the Lily of the Valley Lodge was held in the Foresters' flail, Albany street, on Wednesday evening, February 6. .A.D. Bro. W. Holdaway welcomed home Bro. A. Thomson from overseas service. A challenge from Linden Lodge for the newly-acquired euchre shield was accepted. An interesting syllabus of activities for the year was adopted, and copies are to be sent to all members. The evening closed with supper" and a game of cards. - / •
