Entering the last lap, Sure Maid and Mack Sure were racing together, eight lengths clear from Voco Power, Mistvdale, and. Maximum. With half ' a mile to go, Sure Maid broke, and the favourite moved up into second place. Then Mack Sure broke on'the turn for home, leaving Mistvdale to lead Zona Grattan into the straight. The latter challenged halfway down the running, and heat Mistydale by three lengths, with Mack Sure two lengths away third. Maximum and Voco Power were next. Times: 3.24. 3.28. 3.33 3-5. ' The Frae Dunown-Doonholme bracket (988-1,224), Lucky Meg (9061,208), Hanover (859-1,187), and Admiral Scott (728-792)' were the best fancied in pools totalling £9,421 10s. Doonholme failed to go away, and Jolly Biddy led Lucky Meg through the straight, but at the end of half a mile Admiral Scott rushed to the front, and led Jolly Biddy, Calumet Queen, and Lucky Meg along the back. Admiral Scott was still in charge entering the last lap, being closely attended by- Jolly Biddy, Calumet Queen, and LuckyMeg. With three furlongs to go, the last-named appeared to receive a check, but, recovering quickly, raced round the leaders to be alongside of Jolly Biddy 1 as they straightened up for home. Lucky Meg was in front at the top of the straight, but halfway down the running was challenged by Stimulant, and in a' great struggle to the post the latter scored by a neck. Jolly Biddy hung on to he third, five lengths awav, with Tom Gundy and Radiant Scott next. Times: 3.23 4-5, 3.25. 3.25 3-5.

Three furlongs from home Volo's Victory rushed ,to the front and was two lengths clear from the favourite, Logan Rey _and Dinghy next. Both Fancy Goods and Dillondale lost ground-at the start, and Margaret

Hall broke early. Absolutely led Jeeves, Water Ranger, and Princess Maritza over the first three furlongs Then Elvo's Pride rushed up into secand place to Absolutely. At the end of six furlongs Elvo'e Pride was in charge from Princess Maritza, Absolutely, Jeeves, and Liberty Bond. There was little change in the next lap, and entering the last Elvo's Pride was just in front of Princess Maritza, with Absolutely, Liberty Bond; Jeeves, and Ingle Belmer all close up. Princess Maritza took the lead half a mile from home, but a furlong later both Fancy Goods and Ingle Belmer headed her, and Fancy Goods led into the straight. Opposite the lawn stand Ingle Belmer took charge, and won by a bare length from Will Cary, which finished very fast, and Liberty Bond was half a length away third, a head in front of Fancy Goods.
