Arthur Rank in England. .. ..It is now disclosed that Dietrich, sold every piece of jewellery she owned—and her collection was -valued at nearly half at million dollars—before she went tq Germany to bring her mother to America. She raised & tidy sum, especially from her huge emerald rings and bracelets. ■ Since the/United States entered.the war Marlehe was fully occupied, entertaining the services.. She toured America, and in April of this year visited North Africa and played to the ttoops there and in Italy, for three months. She also made a six months' tour of the European theatre of operations, playing in Greenland and Iceland on her way to Britain. Accompanied by the. British Band of the A.E.F., she sang in the Allied Expeditionary Forces programme of the 8.8.0. ■:..
