DUO PIANISTS
. The first musical event of any importance in 1946 will be the appeai*ance of those brilliant duo pianists Frank Hutchens and Lindley Evans. The former artist is a New Zealander, but for a-quarter of a century he has been established in Sydney, where, besides his many public' performances, he has done outstanding work on the teaching personnel of the N.S.W. Conservatorium of Music. In addition, he has for 21 years sustained a dualpiano partnership with his friend. Lindley Evans, marked by a spiritual as well as technical affinity. It was Evans who originated the idea of dxia piano recitals. He heard Maier and Patterson when they visited Australia' in 1922, and was struck with their artistry. Shortly afterwoods he went to England with Dame Nellie Melba, who said that Evans .was," one of the most accomplished accompanists in the world." When he returned he brought' out some two-piano music, -and suggested that they (he and Hutchens) might, get together. They went to Woollongong and got together, and have never been apart since. Full particulars are advertised.
