CHRISTIAN LEFT PARTY

DISSOLUTION ANNOUNCED (Rec. 11.45 a.m.) LONDON, Dec. 30. Vatican radio announced that the party, the Christian Left, which was established in December, 1944, as the so-called party of Left Wing Catholics, has been dissolved. “ Thus ends a movement in Italian Catholic life which was the source of some concern,” said the radio. “ Its adherents have become aware of the inconsistency _of Catholic and Communist tendencies. The candour, charity, and good intentions of its adherents were above reproach. The Holy See therefore refrained from condemning the t party outright.”
