—Ministerial.— The Minister of Defence (the Hon. F. Jones), who is spending the Christmas holidays in Dunedin, will probably leave for the north on Wednesday. A London cablegram says: Tbe New Zealand Prime Minister, Mr P. Fraser, arrived from Washington by air to-day. British Government • representatives, Lieutenant-general Sir Bernard Freyberg, and Mr R. M. Campbell, Acting High Commissioner for New Zealand in London, greeted Mr Fraser when he landed at Northolt airfield. During the journey Mr Fraser learned through the plane’s radio that he had been made a Companion of Honour. —Air Passengers.— Passengers for the south on Saturday afternoon were:—Miss, G. Monteford, Mr R. Watson. Passengers for the north to-day were:—Mrs M. Russel and infant (for Christchurch), Miss A. Hogg, Mrs S. Ogilvev and infant, Miss F. Couston, Mr and Mrs A. Fraser, Warrant-Officer R. Green (for Wellington), Miss A. Smith, Miss E. Wallace (for Auckland). A message of sympathy with Lady Keyes in the death of her husband, Admiral of the Fleet Lord Keyes, has been sent through the New Zealand High Commissioner in London by the Acting Prime Minister, Mr Nash: “Will you please convey to Lady Keyes,” Mr Nash’s message states, “ the sincere sympathv of the. Government and people of New Zealand in the death of her husband. In this sad hour she has the consolation of knowing that throughout his distinguished career he rendered outstanding service to his country, to the naval forces of New Zealand, and indeed to the whole of "tho Commonwealth.” -The High Commissioner has also been asked to inform Lady Keyes that the Mayor and citizens of Dunedin desire to express their svmpathv to her. Guests staying at Wain’s Hotel include Mr and Mrs A. Brant (Auckland), Miss M. Mullane, Miss V. R. MeWatters. (Hamilton), Miss D. B. Barker, (Gisborne), Mr and Mrs O. Miller, Miss W. Howard, Mr E. J. Mitchell (Wellington). Mr and Mrs Bastion, Mr and Mrs P, McGregor (Christchurch), Mr B. G. King (Temuka), Miss E. Williams (Oamaru), and Mr and Mrs J. Macpherson (Invercargill). Registered at the Grand Hotel are Miss C. Clark, Miss G. E.. Mills .(Auckland), Mrs C. Clarke (Wellington), Mr 'J. Smith (Greymonth), Mrs M. M. : Partington. Mr and Mrs D. Lumh, Mr and Mrs H. N. Thornton. Mr R. C. Clark (Christchurch), MrW. T. Lowry, and Miss R. Wilson (Ashburton).
