PROViSifiNAL ANGLO-FRENCH AGREEMENT »_ PARIS, December 29. The French and American Governments have signed a civil aviation agreement for < two trans-Atlantic flights weekly. Reuter’s correspondent states that the French Government, after a request from American Airlines to extend the number of trans-Atlantic flights beyond the accepted two, agreed on a procedure permitting companies of both countries to use the number of planes required by the demand for air travel.
The correspondent adds that the present agreement is only provisional, pending a much wider permanent treaty, for which negotiations are proceeding. The agreement permits American Airlines to operate from New York to Paris, ißome, Athens, and Calcutta, and from New York to Lisbon, Barcelona, and Marseilles. French air lines are allowed to operate from Paris to New York and Washington, and to Chicago and via Montreal. The agreement provides for air lines to carry traffic to and from intermediate points on the agreed routes.
