GERMAN REPARATIONS
GREECE DISSATISFIED INEQUITABLE ALLOCATION (Rec. IP a.m.) ATHENS,; Dec. 27. 'M. Sofianopoulos, the Prime Minister, announced that Greece is protesting to the Allied Governments against the method of assessing reparations. He cabled the Prime Ministers of New Zealand, Canada, and South Africa, Dr Evatt in Australia, and Mr Stettinius and other Americans, seeking their assistance “ in redressing the injustice done to Greece.” He claimed that the amount allotted Greece by the majority _at the Reparations Conference at Paris on December 21 was much smaller than the modest sum claimed, and to which it was entitled. Greece’s contribution to the Allied cause and the extent- of its sacrifices had been so widely recognised by leading Allied statesmen apd military chiefs that international opinion was prepared to accept even decisions particularly favouring Greece.
